Review of I Drink Your Blood (1971) by John G — 13 Jun 2007
*sigh*... I and was honestly expecting a good B-film. David Durston's "I Drink Your Blood" is about as violent and disturbing as a watching rabbits crap in my backyard. It isn't until the last half-hour that I saw the bloody scenes from the trailer, which is a very good trailer I might add. The blood and gore, however, are not so great. The dismemberment moments are crude, even for B-films, and the rest is mostly shot off-screen.
This movie wouldn't have been so bad if it had a thicker plot. I know plots are not the focus of B-gore-films, but the plot is set in motion in the beginning with nothing, not even good violence, to carry it. Unfortunately, if you're a horror film fan, you'll have to see it. It's a staple in the genre of horror and has a history more controversial than other 70's horror flicks.
