The desire for sexual connection reaches its clearest statement in this brilliant minimalist Taiwanese gem. Ming-liang's films tend to end with one extremely long take, this film is no exception. It teeters on the edge of self-parody but if you allow it, it can also move you to tears.
Powerful stuff.
