Basically Sex-In-The-City transformed into Mom-In-Suburbia, SJP's performance here is about what you would expect. In a film like this you know how it is going to end up, so the goal is to make the trip to the final destination as pleasant as possible.
For the most part it succeeds doing so through likeable characters, a good cast, and some funny moments. It's rom com, not high art, so why expect more?
