Review of I Don't Know How She Does It (2011) by Mikhail B — 09 Jan 2012
Self-revealing saga on American mediocrity where unjustified societal expectations for mothers to be Jacks of all trades are reaffirmed by egoist and narcissist mother (Sarah Jessica Parker) of two and a business woman.
A recipe for being a successful task juggler includes dumping difficult and time consuming stuff on others without accepting their contribution, lying to boss and teachers, building a support team by flirting, lying and face-selling, and taking all the credit for successes.
The movie preaches immorality and self-indulgence, but it is skilfully disguised by up-beat conversations and elevating music on the background. Very much Oprah Winfrey and very typical for the USA, where being a looser is deemed worse than being a sleazy bitch.
Polythene snowflakes the size of olives falling from the sky in one of the episodes are worth mentioning. Immoral Oprah-styled junk.
