4 Stars. Macon definitely owes a lot of his technique from his time working with Jeremy Saulnier, but you know how the old adage goes that you should always steal from the best. This was like Blue Ruin meets God Bless America but still somewhat unique enough to be it's own thing.

It's an enjoyable debut. Hopefully Mason finds a little more of his own voice with his next feature.
