There are a handful of lines that I want to quote from this film with friends, but that would require friends. And for this to reach more people. Which it should.

Macon Blair (frequent collaborator with Jeremy Saulnier of Blue Ruin and Green Room) goes it alone with this promising writing and directing debut. I do wish the social commentary and existentialism that it started with was explored a bit more deeply, but other than that, this flick was a ton of fun. The performances are great as well -- especially Elijah Wood as this hardcore dude who's really just into spirituality and ancient combat techniques. If you're looking for something unpredictable, upbeat, peculiar, (grimly) funny, and well-made...look no further.

That's not your lawn tiger.
