Review of I Don't Feel at Home in This World Anymore (2017) by Jordan D — 03 Mar 2017
Great dark comedy written and directed by Macon Blair. This was his directorial debut and he also played a small role as well. His directing style is a little similar to Jeremy Saulnier who he worked with in the movie Blue Ruin. Larkin Seiple did an excellent job with the cinematography, his indie style high contrast shots throughout the movie set the tone perfectly.
It was well written and directed with no unnecessary or extra long scenes. The characters were strange and awkward but in a good way. Melanie Lynskey and Elijah Wood were funny and perfectly weird. The supporting cast were good too. The whole movie was captivating and wasn't too long. The violence was good and only a little gruesome. Definitely one of the best dark comedies I've seen in awhile.
