It has a lot of plot holes (couldnt he just ask for help with all the online things? - when he did ask, he was helped etc) and that makes it seem illogical at times. Oh, and this is not a depiction of a hard life.
This is a depiction of a guy that handles his not-easy but not bad life in a very bad way.
