Review of I Could Never Be Your Woman (2007) by Eduardo B — 12 Apr 2009
Sorry...not my cup of tea. While I am a fan of cheesiness and romantic comedies, this one is completely over the top. I was so annoyed by the script and direction that I was left "Clueless" on this one.
Consequently, I was embarrassed for the actors I would normally enjoy watching. The film tries to be funny every other second while over-stuffing it with messages about Hollywood, society, and politics.
The characters are one-dimensional and lack chemistry with one another. Pfeiffer's character believes she is a teenager, while Rudd's character is a 24-7 class clown. I can go on and on about this one.
On the plus side, the film had a great soundtrack with lots of songs from The Cure. Perhaps I missed the point on this one, but I certainly suffered through it.
