Review of I Could Never Be Your Woman (2007) by Scott T — 16 Oct 2009
Boy was this movie a surprise I only agreed to watch it because Paul Rudd is in it. I'm very very glad I did. Rudd gives arguably his best ever performance in this. Even his introduction in the movie is hilarious, (how high do his legs go!?) his ad-libs (as always) are amazing and you can see in some scenes that Pfeiffer doesn't know whats coming next which adds to the great energy and chemistry her and Rudd have in this movie.
Saoirse Ronan is a great actress and her pop versions of Ironic and Britney Spears are brilliant. The movie as a whole does feel like a lot of scenes cobbled together to try and avoid a cliched finished product but it does work mainly due to the three main performances, they are superb and supremely entertaining.
Henry Winkler is great as always in his cameo as well. A true hidden gem of a movie and an absolute MUST for Paul Rudd fans, his dancing scene had me in absolute stitches, I had to watch it three times and couldn't believe my eyes! The 'I've got to get my keys' scene is great as well.
Check this movie out rom-com fans!
