Review of I Could Never Be Your Woman (2007) by Prabhat R — 17 Nov 2012
The movie is anchored solidly by Paul Rudd's performance all the way, and the unlikely sparkling chemistry between his character and Michelle Pfeiffer's. The setup is basically of attraction and blooming romance between these two characters with more than 10 years of age difference between them.
This difference is a concern for Pfeiffer but not for Rudd who's blindly and childishly in love with her. Along the way, the movie touches upon topics like our need to corrupt the natural process by altering our physical self, our constantly and ridiculously failing attempts to reinvent our physical appearances and the resulting insecurities when someone throws in a spanner in that forced machinery.
There were some oddly scattered dull moments here and there, but overall, it was Rudd's charming and refreshing presence that makes the flick worth watching at least once.
