Review of I Can Only Imagine (2018) by David D — 19 Mar 2018
This movie was very well done. Dennis Quaid was dynamic in his role, and I hope to see J. Michael Finley in many more performances to come. There are a couple of events in the storyline that came across as less than believable.
First of all, what are the chances that a big name manager would see and act for the first time and climb on the bus that same night to go on tour with the band? More significant was the secular band's lack of a reaction when the lead singer suddenly starts testifying and singing a Christian song a capella to close out their show.
There was no indication of the rest of the band members have any sort of Christian relationship amongst them. Suddenly changing the entire genre of music they play, seems like it would have been a much more controversial change.
Overall, I was incredibly moved by this movie!
