Review of I Can Do Bad All By Myself (2009) by Dana A — 20 Jan 2010
The retardation of Tyler Perry movies are that you can figure out the entire beginning, middle and end by just hearing what's it about. This once again proved my point, it was predictable, unoriginal, annoying and a blatant Color Purple rip off.
Frankly, it was a narratively and grammatically dim redemption pap; uneven, underdeveloped caricatures. Why this man continues to be successful is because he caters to uneducated people who are incapable of recognizing really bad talent.
Instead they are distracted by the bible quotes, buffoonery, random gospel numbers and their joy of a majorly black cast. Taraji P. Henson kept me from turning this crap off but then again there was only so much eye and head rolling I could take.
