Review of I Am Trying to Break Your Heart: A Film About Wilco (2002) by Shane W — 25 Aug 2004
Nice to see that music has been added to the database. Once that makes it to lists I can waste even more time on this site.
I just burned a copy of Yankee Hotel Foxtrot from a friend. I was curious after he lent me the Wilco documentarty I Am Trying to Break Your Heart. I enjoyed the movie but felt it would have been even better with a working knowledge of their music. What I like best about Wilco's music is the fact that Jeff Tweedy never takes the easy way out with a lyric. Some bands you know what the lyric will be before they start because some words are easy to rhyme. But Tweedy's lyrics tend to avoid that and surprise me with the end result. I need to spend more time with Yankee Hotel but I'm enjoying what I've heard.
