Review of I Am the Pretty Thing That Lives in the House (2016) by Daniel P — 27 Oct 2016
It's safe to say director Oz Perkins has most certainly earned the 'auteur' moniker. Completely razor sharp in generating and maintaining unease.
& tension, and extremely committed to letting the narrative unfurl by its own rules and NOT by the tropes that too often plague Horror films in most mainstream releases.
Ruth Wilson is at once unnerving, and this is a fun, nasty little genre entry that lives and dies by magic of world building and creepy atmospheric overtones. David Lynch would approve, that's for sure.
