Review of I Am the Pretty Thing That Lives in the House (2016) by Tania B — 03 Feb 2018
The cinematography did exactly what I want a claustrophobic film to as it subtly let me get to know the layout of the setting while lingering long enough to make ever scene uncomfortable. However, there was never enough story to pay off the suspense.
The film whispered quietly to itself while I was only drawn into the pleasant style of the home. This movie left me feeling charmed with the idea of living in rural New England. Charmed and pleasant doesn't sound like the description of a horror movie I would want to see and this is one I regret wasting an afternoon on.
