Review of I Am Sam (2001) by Bassam A — 03 Aug 2010
Sean Penn is really the only person that made this movie work. He pulled of such an intense performance, it really is pretty amazing. Now that that is out of the way, The movie seems to suffer from the fact that it takes a very controversial subject and makes it seem very refined and something that is easily read and understood.
The movie tries to trick the viewer into think that this could really happen but in reality, the case would have been over from the get go. But it does bring some pretty memorable scenes thanks to Sean Penn.
Bad but worth a view just for Penn.
