Endearing at the core, but cliche. You know that he'll be a good father, he'll lose custody because of his condition, and then get her back in some miraculous way with sweeping strings and a lavish orchestra arrangement to accompany the scene.
It's not that it's bad movie, it's just so damn melodramatic.
