Yes, the acting was well done by all. That notwithstanding, this movie epitomizes everything I hate about many movies. Over-sentimentalization to an extreme degree, stupid plot holes, and preachy-ness.
Also, it tried to mask over these problems by a heavy association with everything Beatles-related. The soundtrack of musicians covering Beatles songs isn't half bad, so that and the acting are the two things that keep it at a 1 star rating rather than half a star.
