Review of I Am Number Four (2011) by Grant S — 23 Dec 2011
Ok, but not great. Reasonably original idea and plot. However, runs out of momentum about 2/3rds through, and degenerates into an action movie. From this point on, the tight plot-line just falls away, and nothing makes sense anymore. New characters and concepts suddenly get thrown in, at a very high rate, just to have an action-packed conclusion. Ultimately, reasonably entertaining, but could have been a lot better.
Performances are OK. Nothing special. A pity Teresa Palmer doesn't get more screentime.
The producers must have thought this was going to be a hit - it is clearly set up for a sequel.
