Review of I Am Number Four (2011) by Tazio G — 30 Dec 2013
This was better than I was expecting since I'm not in the target age group. Has a Twilighty feel to it with typical teen angst, high-school issues and some light romance but on the other side its also a pretty cool sci-fi with great effects and some interesting bad guys.
The final battle is epic and the chick playing #6 really kicks ass. Loved the dog/lizard here too. Great ending left open for sequels. "John Smith" is from another planet, literally. Masquerading as a typical teenager and with the help of his 'guardian' he's been on the run his entire life, trying to stay one step ahead of the intergalactic bounty hunters sent to kill his kind.
They are being taken out in numerical order, and he is Number Four. In a small Ohio town "John" starts over yet again and as he finds his first love he also develops powerful new abilities. I remember this book being very popular.
