Review of I Am Number Four (2011) by Nisha K — 18 Jan 2012
Why do I do this to myself? Oh, because a long time ago, I was totally crushing on Alex Pettyfer. 3 years later, either I'm a pedophile (which I am sure I am not) or Mr. Pettyfer has just grown up to be a total DB, I've come to realize that I really miss the young Alex Pettyfer as he portrayed Alex Rider.
While the story had some potential (well, at least if he DIDN'T have the power of flashlight), but the acting was spectacularly bad. Not just Alex, but everyone. And considering that Alex and Dianna were dating during this film, I expected more chemistry between them.
The best character was Number 6. Who the hell is she and where did she come from? No real explanation. But, overall, it was sorta watchable, but a perfectly boring film. Why would John Smith and his girlfriend go to the school if she was chased by crazy violent carnivorous gilled aliens? And how did these aliens, who looked like mentally challenged gothic football players figure out a way to capture and kill 3 superpower laden alien teenagers before they reached Number Four? Especially while using humans for their own nefarious plans to take over Earth.
*facepalm*.
