Review of I Am Number Four (2011) by The Critic ( — 13 Apr 2013
Despite being very predictably plotted with some cringe-worthy dialogue, this is a generally entertaining sci-fi tale of teen angst set against the backdrop of a planned alien invasion and decimation.
The titular protagonist is played with a distant boyish charm by Alex Pettyfer, a relatively new face to the big screen, who leads a group of all-American-looking adolescents against the menacing bad guys.
Better-than-you'd-expect performances from this sort of fare with a string of well-handled action and fight sequences make 'I Am Number Four' better than it deserves to be. Needless to say, the overall production will satisfy its young target audience.
