Review of I Am Not a Serial Killer (2016) by Ian G — 21 Oct 2016
A great little gem from this year's Toronto After Dark fest focusing on a funeral parlour in a Fargoesque town somewhere in the US where a teenager with the potentials of a sociapath takes an unnatural interest in not just his families occupation but also a recent spurt of killings that have occurred over the series of a winter, where strategic parts of the corpses have gone missing.
As this is going on, he forms an unlikely connection with Christopher Llyod who is one of the numerous seniors that the neighbour kids help out, but may or may not possess a very dark past. As mentioned, I am not a serial killer harkens moments from Fargo but also the Thing, another snowbound monster flick especially when the killer is slowly revealed, and Max Records really nails the disconnect and morbid curiousity in the lead role when he starts investigating all of the odd going ons.
Defintely worth looking on the biggest screen possible and has a couple of great jump scares for sure. Doc Brown has never been creepier. An all time After Dark classic :).
