Review of I Am Love (2010) by Erica A — 13 Apr 2010
I Am Love is about a successful Milanese family. The film doesn't begin at a seemingly relevant time of their lives, it's utterly believable that their lives existed before filming began. Tilda plays a beautiful Russian wife married to Tancredi (remember The Leopard?).
They live in the superficial, cold, luxurious, environment of bourgeois Italians. Everything's about beauty. They have beautiful children. Then Tilda falls in love with a langoustine, cooked by her son's best friend.
.. and the balance of their lives shifts seismically. It's incredibly powerful, the sex scenes harp back to the 1960's but that's my only criticism. Go and see it.
