Review of I Am Love (2010) by Ramón M — 20 Jun 2010
"Io sono l'amore" starts out as a picturesque family portrait and falls apart in a series of bursts and flashes, as a mother decides to follow the example set by her courageous daughter. The oddly-ecstatic tragedy see-saws between shades of grey and sunlit colors, walls and open spaces, slamming cabinet doors and sizzling gourmet delicacies.
Throughout the film, the cinematography is perfectly choreographed with an original minimalist soundtrack, composed by John Adams. If nothing else, this film makes you believe that everything about life in Italy is utterly gorgeous!
