Review of I Am Love (2010) by David G — 29 Jun 2010
This is not a movie, this is a monumental piece of art.
A perfect showcase in sensitivity and capacity to capture a wide range of human phenomena, from the slightest nuances of feeling, emotion and environment awareness (on the barely discernible fringes of perception)... all the way to the nether-regions of ultimate pain and loss. The masterly capacity of Luca Guadagnino to cover emotion and its exuberant natural beauty has blown me away.
I bow in his general direction. How can Mr. Guadagnino be this good? The movie is so human it seems not humanly possible.
If you do not at least utterly respect this movie (it may feel slow to those fed and raised in Hollywood fare) I am afraid you do not understand cinema. Get a different hobby. Seriously.
