Tilda Swinton is a GREAT actress - perhaps the best one out there today (if you missed last year's "Julia," definitely run to the video store and get it!). In this, Swinton plays a wealthy aristocrat whose family has made millions in the textile industry in Italy.
The lifestyle is lavish, but her personal life is a mess, as she longs for the true love she sees her children have. The final act becomes very soap-opera-ish, but the movie is elegant throughout, with absolutely stunning cinematography.
Swinton, who does the role completely in Italian, is stunning.
