Review of I Am Legend (2007) by Marcus G — 03 Nov 2012
This was a much better version of this story than I was expecting, a yet another vindication of Will Smithâ(TM)s excellent rise to the annals on the Hollywood elite. My biggest concern was the lack of people and that it can easily become boring or dull but this was made up for by some first class direction and performances.
The sound design was loud but not noisy, and the visual canvas was bold without being overly epic. The weakest part of the film was its ending which I felt was too happy ever after seem to rescue the film from being what it was. This was a âHollywood Endingâ? if ever Iâ(TM)ve seen one.
Overall, very well made, and only suffers from brief moments of loss of confidence where it feels it need to show the audience more than they need.
