"I Am Legend" Is Nothing New. Will Smith Stars As Seemingly The Last Man On Earth After A Viral Outbreak. His Only Companion Is His Dog That Stays By His Side. The Film, Which Was Directed By Francis Lawrence, Is Typical Hollywood Fare.
The CGI Is Terrible And Is At The Level Of Video Games. There Is Some Genuine Suspense And Some Of The Camerawork Is Fun, But "I Am Legend" Is A Film With Weak Foundations. The Story Is Less Science Fiction Than A Vehicle For Star Will Smith.
The Film Can Be Scary, But It Is Always Shallow And Forced. The Zombies Are So Ridiculous And Bland That You Abandon Any Emotion You May Have Invested In The Film. The Story Is The Film's Real Problem.
Everything Is Recycled From Better Movies. "I Am Legend" Is A Middling Effort From Francis Lawrence.
