Review of I Am David (2003) by Michael M — 26 Mar 2008
When my mom put this on the Netflix order, my first response was "not another historical movie!" cuz that's just about all she chooses. Besides the backdrop, it's really not that though.
It's far more character focussed on David, and the people he meets. It's a really sweet story, and has a some truly magnificient directing and acting. One scene that comes to mind is when David looks out at a beautiful endless field of sunflowers, but keeps a blank look on his face having never learned to smile.
