Review of I Am a Fugitive from a Chain Gang (1932) by Christopher B — 05 Feb 2013
Excellent film - should be seen anyone 12+ years old. Film aficionado's or those in the industry should study this flick made in the early years of sound.
Based on a book, this is an exposè of the prison system of Georgia, USA during the depression. In it's time it was as influential as Sinclair's The Jungle or Erin Brockovitch. Though the script and editing are 2nd rate, the acting, directing, cinematography, sound, and editing make up for it. A classic.
