Review of Hypnotic (2023) by Mystichydra — 15 May 2023

I can't believe this was a Robert Rodriguez film, and I can't believe people are rating it 10. Terribly written, utter convolution after convolution, tons of telling not showing, action scenes rendered totally irrelevant since nothing seemed to matter, and wholly generic.

It's a remnant of an echo of a clone of a slew of infinitely better movies. And it takes itself way too seriously given the omnipresent and seemingly unintentional camp throughout. There were a few enjoyable moments, and maybe 2 twists or approaches to them, that I genuinely found interesting.

But it's not worth the trade-off of 90 minutes of your life.
