Review of Hype! (1996) by Robbie B — 05 Apr 2007
This is THE greatest Music Documentary of all time! It is an endearing look at not only a genre of Rock N' Roll, the primal urges of what is known as Grunge, but a really spectacular tribute to the Pacific North-West as a whole.
The Street Scenes of Seattle, Tacoma, Olympia. Brilliant! The Nightclub scenes. It must've been magic & Seattle had a really huge influence on my musical tastes! I really recommend y'all to see this.
It's very funny in places, Kurt Cobain lowers the mood a bit but hey, it was tragic. But the bands, the energy is unbeatable. I Adore Seattle because of this movie. For extended research, go check out the EMP or Experience Music Project.
The Pacific North-West exibit is brilliant. It's located at Seattle Center next to The Space Needle. You Love Seattle??? Love This...
