Review of Hydra (2009) by Steve Z — 27 Jun 2009
Well, with three stories rolled into one, you'd think one of them would hit the mark. But neither convict hunting, archeology, or mythological beasts came together to make this movie anything worth while.
The beast itself looked better than I'd expected, but still, abhorrent. Beyond that, there was nothing that good here. The story didn't really make sense, and are we to believe that a nerdy archeologist survived for who knows how long on an island with visibly no living animals because they all die from a creature that is strong and agile enough to kill trained hunters with guns, but not a lame-ass girl with ceramics.
Hydra, the film...I'd cut you to shreds, but I know you'd only come back two-fold, and that's the last thing I want.
