Review of Hyde Park on Hudson (2012) by Patrick L — 25 Apr 2013
"A weird and disorganized movie about FDR".
DVD Movie Review: Hyde Park on Hudson.
Directed by Roger Michell (Morning Glory).
Starring: Bill Murray and Laura Linney.
Date Viewed: April 9 2013.
"Hyde Park on Hudson" is set in June 1939 where WWII is about to begin and Franklin Delano Roosevelt (Bill Murray) and his wife, Eleanor invite the King and Queen of England for a weekend at Roosevelt's home at upstate New York. And Britain is facing war with other countries but "Hyde Park on Hudson doesn't talk about the issues Britain is facing the movie's main focus is on the relationship between Bill Murray and Laura Linney.
"Hyde Park on Hudson" isn't bad it's just a medicore made for TV movie that should have premiered at PBS. Directer Roger Michell has directed better films (Changing Lanes and Morning Glory) but this isn't a winner despite a good performance from Bill Murray.
