Review of Hyde Park on Hudson (2012) by Zachary Y — 14 Jan 2013
If this had been just a movie about no one in particular set in the late 30s it would have been great. However, they took a very interesting turning point in British and American relations just before WWII and made it more about the affair of FDR with Daisy(Laura Linney), who narrated most of the film.
Bill Murray did not really try to lose himself in the role of FDR but had an OK performance. To me the most interesting characters were the King and Queen, who as a couple of fish out of water, should have been the focus of the picture.
