When Laura Linney is the weakest link in your film, you know you're in trouble. HYDE PARK ON HUDSON is a film in search of a center and it never finds it. If you've seen the trailer, which is magnificent, you've seen a far better version of the entire film.
All the actors are wasted but worst of all is that the film keeps shifting away from the truly interesting relationship between the royals and Roosevelts to the simpy doormat portrayed by Linney, an astounding actress given nothing to do.
