Review of Hustle & Flow (2005) by M.i. K — 18 Jul 2008

Absolutely fantastic. Howard, Henson and Anderson and the white hooker (I forget her name) really sold their roles. Its the classic follow your dreams story infused with a little hiphop twist. (Howard) Dee Jay is the down on his luck pimp, who sees hiphop as his only way out of his abysmal situation.

Without giving away too much, his relationship with the hos that work for him and the people who help him achieve his goal is whats really fascinating about this movie. Despite his questionable choices and profession, Dee Jay proves that he is just like every other guy out there who is just trying to better himself and follow his dreams.
