Reminds me of my grandma's family, the Southern mansion type... there was murder, slander, moonshine, and all the fixings for a movie... but I should get to this excellent film. This film takes place in a Southern town that is faceing, and one women is fighting it, Ms Charlotte (Davis)! Davis is my favorite actress and this is one reason, she can do crazy, she can do mean, she can do romantic, she can do scary, she can do dramatic, she can do anything! And this film is a perfect example.

She plays the character of Charlotte so well she brought tears to my eyes (and I never cry for a movie), and guiltfully, this wasnt the first time Bette Davis has done so with her acting. I can go forever and ever with Davis' portrayal, but I also have to give some to Olivia de Hallivand.

Davis petrayed the misunderstood woman pushing insanity, and Hallivand played the (being Christian I cant say it, but you know). Hallivand pulled it off! Joan Crawford was originally to be casted as Mirium (Hallivand), but went into an illness as filming began.

.. but rumor has it that she would have probably never played in the film anyways for she had problems with Bette, Bette did to Joan as well. They may have hated each other but they were an excellent duo! These two starred in What Ever Happened to Baby Jane (an opponent to this film) and is one of Davis' and Crawford's most iconic films.

That film inspired those two being casted in this, and you can tell why is you saw it. Anyways, Hush... Hush, Sweet Charlotte is a cult classic, a bucket of twists, an explosion of mystery, a forrest fire of horror, and a hurricane of sadness.

This film is one of the greatest films of all time.
