Review of Hush (2016) by Circus E — 07 Jan 2017
I felt that the film pandered to the audience with a protagonist that was deaf and mute. Still, I had no sympathy for the lead because her actions were so implausible. She immediately sees the phone ring in her preririal vision but is obvlivious to her friend being thrashed against the door.
She also spends a stupid amount of time attempting to load an arrow into a crossbow, never once checking to see where the killer was lurrkng. Of course, she miracously makes a hit on her first try when she is finally resigned to fight back.
She would have had no gauge as to how much noise she'd make escaping because she's deaf but tiptoes through leaves and a creaky roof with ninja like skill. The person that starred in it also wrote and directed it.
.. Poorly. I actually rooted for the killer in this film.
