Review of Hush (2016) by William James S — 11 Aug 2017
It's evident from the first minute of the film that this director is talented. The whole movie is very well edited. Kate Siegel is perfect.
Less a horror than a thriller, it's not really a scary film, but it's very original and very intriguing. Save a few negligible exceptions, the characters actually behave like real people would in their situations. This is very refreshing. There is a moment where the plot reaches a crescendo, and it was VERY well done.
I feel like this movie deserves a more in-depth critique than this, because it was definitely made by people who know what they're doing, but I'll leave all that to the professionals. Suffice to say I enjoyed every minute and found it a very welcome dose of creativity. I can see a lot of people disliking it, but for what it's worth, it's a short film and it deserves a look from you.
