Review of Husbands and Wives (1992) by Aditya M — 17 Mar 2014
This is classic Woody Allen. An array of complicated and fascinating characters are brought to life with sharp writing and spot-on performances.
This is a movie about unhappy husbands and wives (Not to mention illicit lovers), and how they are almost intrinsically programmed to make choices that only deepen their dissatisfaction. This line by Woody Allen's character sums it up - "See, I will always have this penchant for what I call kamikaze women. I call them kamikazes because they, you know they crash their plane, they're self-destructive. But they crash into you, and you die along with them.".
