Review of Hunter Prey (2010) by James O — 24 Jul 2011
Well done low budget movie that does not feel like a low budget movie. A alien ship is transporting a prisoner, the Aliens destroyed this prisoners home planet and the prisoner is the only survivor of his species. The transport ship crashes on a barren planet that is similar to the deserts of Earth. The premise is that the prisoner has started a plan that will destroy the Aliens home planet, and the prisoner was being transported back to the Aliens home planet to extract the needed information to save the aliens home world. Now that the transport ship has crashed on the planet the 3 surviving Aliens have 110 hours to recapture the prisoner.
Generally in movies like this you get the point of view from one side of the aliens, in this case you get to watch the movie from both sides of the conflict. It was a man vs man type of conflict, both sides hunting each other down. I liked the twists in the movie. What I did not like was the ending, when a movie ends with me having questions then I get upset, I was ready to give this movie a 70%, but the ending lowered it to 60%. If you want to see something that is not mainstream, and you enjoy giving unknown movies a chance, Hunter Prey is a worthwhile watch.
