Review of Hunt Angels (2006) by Jesse O — 01 Jan 2008
A good documentary about early Australian filmmakers, but not a great one. Failed to give me the same inspired feeling that is usually guaranteed when I watch a movie about filmmaking, but it was an interesting story.
I think it would have worked better as a straight narrative. Earned a star for its visual effects - the world of Sydney and Victoria in the 30s-50s was created with animated still photographs in a very clever way.
