Review of Humpday (2009) by Alan W — 11 Jan 2010
When reviewing (indie) films like this, it is often difficult not to remember how small their budgets were and thus one is often more generous to them as a result. This film is basically 90 mins of people talking to each other, so it is definitely a cheap one to make.
The good thing is that they managed to stay mostly real and natural despite the 'crazy' or quite easily derailed subject matter at hand. The not so good is that they chickened out and talked themselves out of it - bit predictable there but not unforgivable as some reviews said.
So yes this is a generous rating - in the end, I prompted for 3 instead of 2 1/2 as the film and its characters did not outstay their welcome.
