Some really interesting ideas here, and some amusing moments, but this is by far the worst thing Kaufman has been involved with, and a lot of it is because of Gondry. Gondry hit the jackpot with Eternal Sunshine because his surreal style fit the tale, but here everything he does is distracting and just takes away from whatever promise the script originally had.
