Review of Human Capital (2013) by Diane M — 17 Jan 2015
I liked it. The film teetered at times at the edge of telenova territory, but was far more complex and nuanced overall. Excellent acting all around, Valeria Bruni Tedeschi is top-tier. I loved how humor, even absurdity, were woven in with drama and pathos.
Each viewer may have a different take on the movie's "social commentary", which is the way it should be. But you can't leave the theater without your own thoughts about money power, classism and sexism.
