This movie is just painful. Ang Lee worked so hard to be poetic in how he told the story that he lost site of what the story was at it's core: a misunderstood super hero film. Add in Nick Nolte and Eric Bana playing caricatured versions of characters they did not seem to understand and you have a very long, very bad film.
