Review of Hulk (2003) by Julian T — 27 Dec 2011
Lets start with the positive. The casting was very good. Bana was a perfect choice as Bruce Banner, as were Connelly and Elliott as Betty and Thunderbolt Ross. Some of the directorial choices were cool. I liked the comic-frame format in certain parts, although in others all it served to do was create too much for your eye to see at once, and remind viewers that their watching a movie.
The negatives are much more prevalent. The CGI is pretty shoddy. The films star looks like a baby-faced PS3 graphic more than anything else. While director Ang Lee goes out of his way to ground everything else in this film in reality, the action sequences are completely and bogusly far fetched.
But the real problem with this movie is the story itself!! Giant poodles? REALLY??? The Lou Ferrigno cameo was a nice touch though.
